And that’s how the teams at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Frisco at PGA Parkway and Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Centennial strive to treat patients and their loved ones. “From the moment someone walks through the doors of a Baylor Scott & White facility, our hope is that they feel welcomed, safe and genuinely cared for,” says Wes Tidwell, president of Baylor Scott & White – Centennial.
“We often say we’re a family caring for families, and that’s how we approach every patient interaction.” Ryan Gebhart, president of Baylor Scott & White – Frisco at PGA Parkway, echoes the sentiment. “I want patients to know that we’re going to care for them like our own family-like we’re caring for our own mom and dad.” The goal is to provide not only exceptional care for both routine and complex conditions but to deliver care with the compassion and support needed to truly empower patients and their loved ones. That starts with culture.
Baylor Scott & White team members bring to work every day both highly technical expertise in their fields of care and a heart for serving others. “We work hard to create an atmosphere of compassion, trust and excellence so that every patient and family can feel confident they’re in caring, capable hands,” Ryan says. Many of the nurses, physicians on the medical staff, hospital leaders and other care team members are raising their own families in Frisco.
When he’s not at the hospital, Ryan can be found running his three kids to various activities around the area or coaching youth sports. The result is a uniquely personal connection between caregivers and the community they serve. While both the Centennial and Frisco at PGA Parkway campuses are community hospitals with a warm, accessible feel, they work together to deliver a wide range of advanced medical specialties—from labor and delivery services (including neonatal intensive care) to cardiovascular care, digestive health, orthopedics and much more.
“By collaborating across our hospitals, we’re able to provide patients with greater access to specialized services while maintaining the convenience of receiving exceptional care close to home,” Wes says. As Frisco continues to grow, both campuses are expanding programs to meet a full array of healthcare needs both inside and outside the hospitals’ walls, Ryan explains. “We’re building a regional destination for people to come to, so they don’t have to go outside of their community for care.” Whether it’s welcoming a bundle of joy or helping patients find a way forward after a serious diagnosis, the team understands their sacred responsibility to Frisco families.
